Small Business Digital Grant

In a bid to support growth in small business by encouraging them to embrace digital technologies the State Government has announced a Small Business Digital Grant of up to $10,000 which is matched with a contribution from the Small Business.  The Grant is to provide small business with support in funding the cost of performing digital projects such as:

  • Digital marketing – digital marketing and social media

  • Digital content – digital content development (web pages, mobile apps, media etc)

  • Receiving payments – receiving payments or selling online (e-commerce)

  • Specialised digital technology or software (business specific)

  • Digital planning, advice or training

To be eligible, businesses must have less than 20 employees and match fund the project however,  up to 20% of the small business’s investment can come from time spent on the implementing or receiving training on the project.

What’s required?

To submit an application for the Grant, applicants need to provide the following details:

  • Total cost of the project (including the business contribution)

  • A breakdown of the expenditure including the software, hardware and subscriptions

  • An outline of the proposed digital project, how it will enhance the business and the business impact including revenue growth, cost savings, time savings, employment outcomes etc.

  • A quote from the service provider who will deliver the digital products/services.

Small Business Entrepreneur Grants Program

 

The Small Business Entrepreneur Grants Program provides new small businesses access to professional advice and support in the critical early stages of establishing a business.

Available funding

Matched funding of up to $5,000 (excluding GST) may be provided to eligible businesses to engage a consultant, advisor, or business coach to help establish or develop the business. The advice must fall under 1 or more of the following areas:

  • professional business, tax, computing, legal or financial (accounting) advice

  • mentoring/coaching

  • business and strategic planning

  • market research and marketing strategies, including branding strategies and social media/digital strategies.

Payment will be made directly to the business on completion of the project and on presentation of proof of payment for the service. The value of the grant payment will be increased to compensate for any GST.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible the business must:

  • have a business name registered within the last 4 years

  • have fewer than 20 employees at the time of applying for the grant

  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST

  • be based in Queensland

  • declare if any owners or directors of the business are an undischarged bankrupt or insolvent.
